Lucia Matzger has worked with coffee filters since 1993. These used coffee filters are collected for her by about 20 coffee drinkers and she uses these as a collage material to create beautiful kimono shaped forms and other three dimensional work. She grew up in the Netherlands and was early on exposed to multi-media fabric art. Her work has been widely exhibited since the early 80ties and is shown in several public spaces and in many private collections.
